High Speed Drive achieved Rewriting at 8x, Writing at 8x
Compatible with the new remarkable high-speed CD-RW standard, the Orange Book Part III, Volume 2 V1.0. When you use a High Speed CD-RW media, the MP7083A can rewrite at a speed of 8x. This is twice as fast as the previous highest speed (4X). It contains not only the MP7083A drive, but also one RICOH CD-R disc and one RICOH High Speed CD-RW disc, "CDRW 74 10X".
Technology to produce high speed
Using increased laser output together with high-precision pulse strategy, the new drive provides high reliability recording on CD-R and CD-RW media across speeds ranging 2x to 8x.
Read operation at up to 32x speed is possible with all three types of media : CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW.
Compact, light-weight pickup module provides stable write operation while accessing at the outstanding speed of 120 msec.
High speed-processing LSIs provides superior packed writing performance through speedy, efficient buffer memory utilization.
Technology to produce stable writing
Equipped with large, 2MB memory buffer for temporary storage of data during write operation. This prevents buffer underrun error, a type of error that occures during write operation, and incrreases the security of high-speed recording.
Realization of low power consumption
Consuming only 10W of power, the MP7083A is also designed for minimal heat radiation.
Implementation to meet demanding audio users
Audio data can be read at up to 32X speed (DAE), allowing high-speed creation of WAV files.
