Hi to everybody,

I have a question about your USB Ultra IR-Receiver v1.1 kit, it's possible to use it with de IR remote from MS that is RC6 instead of RC5?
I'm iterested in buying one, but becouse i have a borrowed remote i need to know if it works with it.

Thanks in advance and sorry about my english.

Best regards.

Mariano.

The power on/off function only works with RC5, because the Atmel IC firmware is only able to save and compare these codes.

But I think that the latest Microsoft Remote keyboard is also able to control other devices (as universal remote) like TV and Video,
so it should be no problem to use it with the USB Ultra IR :thumb:

Hi, thanks for the fast answer.

An explanation, i'm talking about the remote control not about the keboard.

Only for the information, could be possible to modify the firmware to accept the new IR codes, and use the on/off function?

Thanks again.

If this remote isn't usable as universal remote (not programmable), there's no easy! chance to get it working.

May be I'm able to offer another receiver for RC6, etc. in the future, but currently it's necessary to have a RC5 infrared signal.
But there're so many universal remote control units on the market, that it should be no problem at all, to get a very nice and low cost universal remote.
