About the USB Ultra IR Receiver.

I know enough about circuitry to be dangerous and that means I could follow your guide with success, but I would like to know if wiring an internal usb ribbon cable to the PCB and then connecting that to the motherboard usb header would be an option.  It seems like it should be doable, but I'm wondering it the standard USB plug cable is being used for a reason.

Also I looked in the checkout cart and looks like vacation is in effect until the 25th?  Should I wait until then to place an order?  I'm in the states.

Hi vman,

yes, Jens, the Webmaster and Owner of this site is on vacation right now. You can place an order, but I guess you will get an email that your request isn't answered before 25th.

I think your idea taking an internal USB connection is an option, but therefor you better wait and ask Jens. I'm no technical guy, if you know what I mean. ;)

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker.

I'm not sure what I agreed to when I registered on the forums.  I didn't join the UK armed forces did I?

I'll wait till he gets back, I'm interested if he has/or has comtemplated expanding on his design and created a reciever/transmitter combo.

There are a few pre-built solutions out there like the Ira3/Tira2 and USB-UIRT but none interface with the power header as such.

I tend to press for the complete package as always....

excuse me for my lack of worldwide exposure.

Does the symbol "€" mean EURO?  I recall hearing about a changeover to EURO in the past so this is probably what you use now instead of DEM, right?

First of all, sorry for the late answer ...

Yes, of course it's also very easy to connect all USB receiver types to the internal USB header instead of using the external.
For example use an old USB Slot bracket which you don't need and cut the cable near the slot bracket.
The pinout should be described in your mainboard manual, otherwise it's printed on the motherboard PCB.
