I just got a 2x40 char LCD Display (Model DMC402 with Bezel Uses the standard controller HD44780)
I just wonder if I have to make any changes in your "new soldering guides for 20x2 and 20x4 LC displays" to make ite work, or if I just can and solder away as the guide tells me (great how-to by the way)
Thanks for any help! / Johan
This is what the manual for the Display tells me (if you need more info, just tell me):

DB0 ~ DB3 Input/Output MPU 4 lines of low order data bus. Bi-directional transfer of data between MPU and module is done through these lines. In 4 bit operation, these are not used and should be grounded.

Yes, this looks great (except that you've no backlight) and the description of the second "E" signal is only available with some ! 40x4 or 40x2 displays, so don't care about it.
