Yes, it will be But don't worry about this, because it could also be a measure failure of your mobo.

Hard to say, but first I would guess yes. 0,05V seems to be a lot, it is very seldom that a mobo has such a great difference from that voltage that it should give the CPU But remember, using the wire trick without cutting the L11 Bridges, or even some L11 Bridges you only can add the wires to the socket you have to imagine the wires from stock voltage are still set so with 1,65V you are only able to reach 1,85V with 1,6V you can reach 1,65 1,8 and 1,85V and with 1,5V you can reach 1,55 1,6 1,65 1,7 1,75 1,8 and 1,85V

Ok thanks- one last question. my mobo overvolts my cpu by about .05v. Do I have to take this .05v into account when doing the pin mod? will my 1.85V actually be 1.9?

it will be also possible to cut them with a very sharp knife, some cryzy guys even do it with 12V, but I belife this might be to much risk the Barton I have some month ago I cut the bridges with a knife to 1,5V, this was really enough for me if you want to go lower, like this you'll have to cut all L11 bridges

thanks for the clarification I dont have a mini drill around, how else can I cut the L11 bridges, will a sewing needle work? Also, how will I know if I've gone deep enough? do I just have to measure out .5-1.0 mm? (Geändert von Nakamori um 22:28 am Juli 22, 2005)

First of all welcome in our forum The Pin-mod will work fine for the FSB or Vcore mod, also with these newer locked processors. If you like to increase the Vcore to 1.85 Volt it's not necessary to cut any bridges (the multi mod is not necessary). But of course you have to open the L11 bridges, if ! you like to choose any exact Vcore lower than 1.85 Volt. Otherwise you'll get a combination of the L11 bridges and the Pin-Mod.

I have an athlon xp 2500+ barton, I'm thinking about doing this as my mobo is vcore locked. my multiplier is locked at 11 but I dont want to change it, do I still need to do the multiplier=11 pins or just the pins for the vcore? Same with the fsb- I dont want anything to change there. I don't need any pins for that either, right? Does this work with a locked cpu? Do I have to do anything special, like cut the L1, L2 etc?
